By the garden, we reserve space for our home-scale nursery which is full of evergreen and deciduous trees, shrubs, perennial flowers and plants, fruit trees, natives, most of which are propagated by us either through seed, cutting, or transplant. Every fall and winter, we plant trees on the property to expand diversity but also to safeguard for firewood.
The previous owners planted many different types of trees around the property and we continue the tradition by adding new tree species. It has become nice small-scale arboretum with dreams of adding a map and tree species labels.
In the nursery, we store backup genetics of the plants that we use for food here. Additionally, we house apple and pear rootstock onto which we will graft our trees and other special varieties.
